Strickland was the football team’s leading receiver in 2006, 2007, and 2008. For his career, he had 1,544 receiving yards (sixth in school history) and 84 receptions (eighth in school history). His 15 career receiving touchdowns rank third in school history. As a senior in 2008, led team with 34 catches for 656 yards and seven touchdowns to earn second team All-Southern Conference honors. His seven touchdowns in a single season rank fifth in school history and he started all 12 games as team reached the NCAA FCS Playoffs. During his junior season in 2007, started all 13 games at wide receiver and led the team in catches with 39 for 599 yards and five touchdowns. The 599 receiving yards were the seventh-most in school history and he ranked ninth in the Southern Conference in receiving yards and tenth in the conference with 46.1 yards per game. He led team with 14 receptions for 183 yards and two touchdowns as a sophomore. As a freshman in 2005, Strickland caught six passes for 106 yards on the year. He graduated with a degree in finance. After Wofford, he signed as a rookie free agent with the Jacksonville Jaguars and spent time on the Atlanta Falcons practice squad.
