SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford volleyball team reported to campus earlier this week to begin preparations for the upcoming 2023 season. The first practice was held Wednesday morning.

Head coach
Lynze Roos returns for her ninth season at the helm of the Terriers to lead a roster of 19 players. The group features 13 returners while welcoming
six newcomers.

Half of last season's starting lineup will be back on the court this season, including a pair of 2022 All-Southern Conference Second-Team selections in
Sarah Barham and
Millie Loehr. Barham paced the team in blocking last season with 123 swats at a rate of 1.11 per set. The senior recorded the 300
th block of her career at UNCG on October 29, 2022. Loehr returns after a SoCon-leading hitting percentage of .391, a clip that shattered Wofford's single-season program record, previously held by Arden Anderson with a rate of .348 in 2011.

The team will open its season on the road with a pair of matches in the Big Orange Bash hosted by Clemson. The season opener will be against Middle Tennessee on Saturday, August 26 at 2:00 p.m., and the Terriers will then face the host Tigers the following afternoon.

Wofford begins its home slate the next weekend with the first of two non-conference tournaments inside the Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium. The Wofford Invitational will feature South Carolina State, Georgia State and Elon. The Terriers open the event against SC State on Friday, September 1 at 9:30 a.m.

SoCon action begins on Friday, September 22 with a road tilt at Mercer. The 2023 Southern Conference Tournament will be hosted by Wofford inside the Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium from November 17-19.
