After a scoreless first half the Bears found the opener in the 51st minute when Jake Mezel linked up with Roberto Arteaga inside the box and Arteaga headed it in. Just over ten minutes later Mercer added another goal this time from Will Bagrou.

Down two goals Wofford showed no quit as the Terriers continued to generate offensive opportunities. Wofford cut the lead in half in the 70th minute thanks to the goal from Zach Aversano who corralled the rebound after Austin Tuggle's shot was blocked and buried the goal.
