CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Wofford College rifle team competed in an NCAA qualifying match on Sunday at the Inouye Marksmanship Center.
Dan Wesson took first place among the schools firing on Sunday.
Dan Wesson had a 1,151 aggregate score to finish first on Sunday. He was second in small bore at 570 and third in air rifle at 581.
Scott Condo was eighth overall at 1,119 and
Marcus Stallings was ninth at 1,108.
Andrew Visconti was seventh in small bore and had a total of 1,100.
Isabella Timmons (544) and
Meredith Bean (535) fired air rifle only in the match.
The qualifier began on Saturday with one relay between #12 N.C. State and #20 UAB. The Wolfpack scored 4,644 points to 4,597 for the Blazers. Makenzie Sheffield of N.C. State took individual honors with 1,166 points.
On Saturday, #22 The Citadel mixed, #29 The Citadel women, #24 Georgia Southern and #25 Wofford competed in two relays. The Citadel was first at 4,554, followed by Wofford at 4,478 and The Citadel women at 2,702. Georgia Southern did not compete for a team score.
The Terriers will compete in the 2020 Southern Conference Championship on March 7 and 8 in Statesboro to close out the season.
