ELON, N.C. – The Wofford men's tennis team started off well with a nice doubles point on the road, but were swept in singles competition for a 6-1 defeat.
Omar Williams and
Bryce Keim set the tone for doubles with a 6-2 win at the #1 spot. After Casasolas and Losada dropped their match it came down to court 3. The pairing of
Will Fullett and
Ashe Ray retrieved the point for the Terriers with a 6-4 win.
Wofford wasn't as fortunate in singles play, falling in all matches. Williams played hard with a 6-4, 6-4 loss, while
Diego Losada and
Bryce Keim almost stole set on their courts. Freshman
Alex Horn was the only singles competitor for Wofford to win a set, forcing a third game, but ultimately losing in the end.
"I'm proud of our team. Picking up a doubles point on the road is huge for us", said coach Ray. "Elon responded well and we were just too little too late during singles."
