SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford College rifle team hosted the University of North Georgia on Sunday at the Taylor Center Rifle Range. The Nighthawks, ranked #17 in the nation, earned a 4,582 to 4,356 win over the Terriers.
Marcus Stallings led the Terriers with a score of 1,125 to finish fourth overall. He fired a 558 in small bore and a 567 in air rifle, both of which were first for the team.
Isabella Timmons was fifth overall (549 small bore, 561 air), followed by
Jason Kellinger (523 small bore, 542 air) and
Meredith Bean (506 small bore, 550 air).
Jessy Delgado fired air rifle only with a 522 score.
Overall, Kimberlee Nettles of North Georgia took first place with a 1,156 aggregate score along with first place in both small bore and air rifle.
The Terriers will be back in action on Sunday, February 14, at VMI. They will compete at the NCAA Qualifier on February 21, then will take part in the Southern Conference Championship from March 6-8 in Charleston.
