CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Wofford women's tennis team opened the fall season at the CSU Invitational hosted by Charleston Southern from Friday, September 16 to Sunday, September 18, at the Gary Clark Banks Tennis Center. In addition to Wofford and Charleston Southern, the College of Charleston and Coastal Carolina also competed in the event.
"I felt like overall this was a good tournament for the team," said head coach
Krissy Hall. "We were able to move the line up around in singles and try different doubles team combinations throughout the weekend. It was a great starting point and showed us the things we need to work on moving forward throughout the fall season. We are excited to start working on those things in practice this week and look forward to competing again this upcoming weekend."
Highlights of the weekend included sophomore transfer
Catherine Blouin winning her first singles match and freshman
Chloe Elliott earning her first doubles win as Terriers.
In doubles,
Lily Woods and
Georgia Fischer earned a 6-1 win over Coastal Carolina and the pairing of
Emely Kahrs and
Chloe Elliott had a win over the College of Charleston.
Emma Sorensen had a singles win over the College of Charleston, while
Brianna Wilbur and
Catherine Blouin had wins over Charleston Southern.
Emely Kahrs and
Georgia Fischer added singles wins over Coastal Carolina.
Wofford will compete next weekend at the Emily McNall Classic hosted by UNC Asheville.
