Spartanburg, S.C.- The 2023 season comes to a close for the Wofford men's soccer team after dropping the contest 1-0 to Furman in the Southern Conference Tournament semifinals.
Furman tallied the decisive strike in the 80th minute off a deflected shot to secure their spot in next weekend's Southern Conference Tournament finals. Wofford's two best scoring opportunities in the 56th minute and in the 74th minute missed by just inches to keep the Terriers off the scoreboard.
Senior goalkeeper
Cameron Victor saved four of the five shots he faced on the afternoon to eclipse the 100 save mark in his career. The senior's 15 goals allowed this season goes down as the fewest allowed in Wofford's D-I era and his 0.88 goals allowed per game average is the seventh best single season mark in program history. As a team, the 0.88 goals allowed per game is the best in Wofford's D-I era.
Seven wins across the campaign is a team high since winning 12 matches in 2016 and four losses is a team low since 2009. The Terriers will return to the pitch in the spring for the spring ball portion of their season.
