JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – On Friday afternoon, the Wofford men's tennis team was defeated 7-0 by East Tennessee State University at the Dave Mullins Tennis Complex. The Bucs, ranked #68 in the nation, won the doubles point and swept all six singles matches.
In doubles, ETSU had a pair of 6-2 wins at the #2 and #3 positions to clinch the point. The #3 match was left unfinished.
The Bucs won the first five singles matches in straight sets. At the #6 position,
Jack Burdell lost the first set 7-5 but won the second set 7-5 before falling 10-4 in the third set tiebreaker.
Wofford (6-9, 1-4) will travel to Mercer on Saturday, April 4, for an 11:00 a.m. match. The Bucs are now 15-3 overall and 4-0 in the SoCon.
