The WOCO BAND made their debut during the 2008-09 men's and women's basketball season and have been an integral part of the Wofford basketball gameday experience ever since. Originally known as the "Thundering Terriers", the WOCO BAND was given a new name, new look and a new attitude in the fall of 2014. This spirited group of musicians perform at all all home men's and women's basketball games and travel to the Southern Conference Basketball Championships in Asheville. The WOCO BAND is unique in that it is not open only to Wofford students, but also alumni, fans and players from other local colleges or high schools. If you want to continue to enjoy live musical performance and love to cheer and have a good time, then the WOCO BAND is your type of group.
The WOCO BAND has played on a national stage as well, traveling with the Wofford men's basketball team and the cheer/dance programs during their recent trips to the NCAA Tournament in 2010 (Jacksonville), 2011 (Denver), 2014 (Milwaukee) and 2015 (Jacksonville).
The WOCO BAND carries on a decades long Wofford tradition of leading students and fans in the singing of the Wofford College "Alma Mater" - a tradition started by the Rev. Talmadge Skinner.
Listen in as the band leads a full house inside the Benjamin Johnson Arena in one of the most stirring renditions in recent memory on February 20, 2016.
