Aiva Schmitz joined the Wofford tennis staff in the fall of 2026. She previously played tennis at the University of Minnesota and is currently attending VCOM.
In four seasons at the University of Minnesota, she played in 117 career singles matches and 84 doubles matches. She recorded 67 singles wins and 33 doubles wins. She was named Big Ten Player of the Week twice (1/28/26 and 3/12/24).
A native of New Auburn, Wisconsin, she graduated with a degree in biochemistry. She was named CSC Academic All-District twice, along with earning a spot on the Spring Academic All-Big Ten team.
Her father, Frank, was a professional tennis player on the ATP tour for 10 years. Her mother, Clare, played basketball at Marquette University, and then played professional basketball in Australia, Luxembourg, and Germany. Her sister, Stella, plays tennis at Rutgers University.
