Eli Rowland joined the Wofford staff in August of 2024 as an intern and moved into the assistant director of athletic communications role in October of 2025. He is the primary media contact for volleyball, women’s basketball, and softball. While an intern, he was the primary contact for men’s soccer and men’s basketball, with the men’s basketball team winning the Southern Conference Championship and earning a bid to the NCAA Tournament. In addition, he assisted with game day operations for several other sports.Â

Rowland spent the 2023-24 academic year as a graduate assistant at Howard Payne University. He handled a wide variety of tasks, including statistics, social media, photography, operations, and website development.Â

A 2022 graduate of Erskine College with a degree in sports communications, Rowland was a member of the men’s basketball team. He also earned a MBA from Howard Payne University in 2024.Â
