Gabriel Ballard was named the Director of Compliance in August of 2026. He previously was a graduate assistant in the compliance office at Gardner-Webb University.
He oversees NCAA, Southern Conference and Wofford regulatory issues for all Terrier student-athletes. This includes interpreting NCAA regulations and monitoring recruiting, financial aid and eligibility issues, along with Name, Image and Likeness regulations.
While at Gardner-Webb, he assisted with monitoring NCAA, conference, and institutional compliance regulations. He maintained records in ARMS and with the NCAA Eligibility Center.
He has additional athletic administration experience at Chosen 1 Academy and Dudley High School.
A native of Greensboro, N.C., he was a defensive lineman at Winston-Salem State University, where he earned a bachelor of science in sport management and a bachelor of arts in mass communications. He is currently completing a master of science degree at Gardner-Webb University in sport management.
