Patrick Wheeler joined Wofford as the director of the Terrier Club in October of 2024. In this role he plans, coordinates, implements and manages all aspects of athletic fundraising events, along with donor relations. He is responsible for coordinating with the Terrier Club Board of Directors and managing all donations, mailings, and solicitations. He also oversees ticket operations.
Prior to Wofford, Wheeler spent four years working in the athletic department at UNC Charlotte. Most recently he was the assistant director of donor relations and stewardship as he directed athletic foundation events, managed a portfolio of donors, worked with the Niner Varsity Club and oversaw member benefit fulfillment. He also had roles as an athletic foundation development assistant and a facilities and events assistant during his time in Charlotte.
Wheeler graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a bachelor of science degree in psychology with a minor in economics in May of 2020. He was a member of the 49ers baseball team, playing primarily in the outfield. Wheeler added a master of sport management degree from the University of Florida in December of 2021. He and his wife, Kelley, reside in Spartanburg.
