Stephen Lee will be joining the staff as an assistant coach in March of 2025. Lee has spent the past four seasons as an assistant coach at Berry College.
“I’m so excited to welcome Stephen and his wife Delaney to Wofford College and the Terrier women’s soccer family,” said head coach Kevin Dempsey. “He brings a wealth of knowledge for our field players as well as our goalkeepers. His experience in both areas is really important for the growth of our program. Stephen is an excellent coach but even better person! His commitment to player development both on and off the field will play a key role in elevating our program in the Southern Conference.”
During his four seasons at Berry, Lee coached three All-Region players and 32 All-SAA Conference players, with many academic honors. In the 2024 season, the team was 6-7-4 overall and 3-2-1 in the SAA. They had a win in the SAA Conference tournament quarterfinals. They were 10-5-2 overall in the 2022 season and 11-6 in his first season in 2021.

He has such great experience and has been very successful over his career and I am elated that I get to work alongside him as his assistant coach. He has a great vision for the future, and I am eager to help him and the team succeed on and off the field. My wife and I are excited to make the transition up to South Carolina and join the Terrier community! I would also like to send my deepest gratitude to the Berry College family. I will always be thankful for our time together over the last four years.”
Lee played soccer for four years at Toccoa Falls College. During his time there, he was a first team All-Region selection, team MVP, and three-time Offensive Player of the Year, while also holding the title of team captain in 2015.
He played for the Chicago Eagles Academy team in the summer of 2013. The team toured Brazil for two weeks, training and playing semi-professional matches while running soccer camps for the local community.
After graduating college, Lee started his coaching career as the men’s assistant soccer coach for Emmanuel College. His responsibilities while at Emmanuel College included training the varsity team, team-building development, leadership training, recruiting, and goalkeeper training.
In the summer of 2020, Lee joined the Truett McConnell University (NAIA) men’s soccer team as an assistant coach.
Lee holds a National and Advanced National Coaching license through United Soccer Coaches. He also has Goalkeeper Level 1 and level 2 diplomas through United Soccer Coaches.
A native of Toccoa, Georgia, he has a Bachelor's of Science degree in Sports Management from Toccoa Falls College.
