Lettermen’s Weekend 2009 – October 16-18
Join fellow teammates and their families for Lettermen’s Weekend, sponsored by the Terrier Club Board of Directors. All alumni who participated in intercollegiate athletics while a student at Wofford are invited to join in on the fun!

Friday, Oct. 16
9 am — 4 pm • Tickets
Tickets not previously mailed can be picked up in the lobby of the Joe E. Taylor Center. Tickets can also be picked up under the Black & Gold tent in front of the Taylor Center on Saturday morning.
11 am • Upstate Golf Tournament
The 2009 Upstate Mini-Tour golf tournament will be held at the Country Club of Spartanburg. Registration begins at 11 am with lunch at 11:30. Shotgun start at 1 pm. $175/person includes lunch, captain’s choice tournament, prizes and oyster roast ticket for the golfer.
6 pm – 8 pm • Oyster Roast
Lettermen and their spouses (or guests) are invited to attend the Oyster Roast at the Country Club of Spartanburg following the golf tournament. Tickets are $20/person and include food and drinks (nonalcoholic beverages, beer and wine, cash bar available).
6 pm: Baseball Team Scrimmage
The Wofford baseball team will host Francis Marion in a scrimmage at King Field. Everyone is invited. Free admission.
8:30 pm • Terrier Tip Off
Basketball Fans and lettermen don’t want to miss Opening Day of Practice for the men’s and women’s basketball teams. Basketball alumni, dust off your basketball shoes and join the teams in basketball festivities and alumni games. Everyone is invited to the Benjamin Johnson Arena to “tip off ” basketball season. Free admission.
Saturday, Oct. 17
9 am – 1 pm • Information Tent
An information tent will be set up in the Brittain Plaza area in front of the Joe E. Taylor Center. Pick up your nametags, ask questions, get directions, or purchase tickets. Tickets purchased in advance and not mailed will be here for pick-up.
9 am • Tour the Taylor Center
Note: The Taylor Center will close at 1 pm in preparation for the football game.
10 am • “State of Athletics Address”
Harley Room, Richardson Building. Athletic Director Richard Johnson will give an update on Wofford athletics as well as college athletic trends from around the nation.
10:30 am • Hall of Fame Induction
Harley Room , Richardson Building. Everyone is invited to the Class of 2009 Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Inductees: Heidi Best ’01, Jimmy Miner ’04, Matt Nelson ’04, & Wendy Rohr ’04.
11 am–1 pm • Team Reunions
Current Wofford coaches and student-athletes are planning mini-events just for lettermen
and their families. Check the schedule below for your team gathering location and time.
1 pm – 2:30 pm • Family Tailgate
Lettermen and families are invited to a tailgate luncheon in front of the new Joe E. Taylor
Center. Lunch tickets are $10/adult and $5/child (ages 5-18). Buy the family of four lunch for $25.
3 pm • Football vs. ASU
Wear your black and gold and come cheer the Terriers to victory over SoCon rival Appalachian State University.
Sunday, October 18
6 pm: Men’s Soccer vs. Elon.
Snyder Field. Free Admission.
Note: The women’s soccer team and the Terrier volleyball team both have scheduled matches out of town Lettermen’s Weekend. The women’s soccer team will play at Davidson on Friday night and then travel to Georgia Southern for a match at 2 pm on Sunday. The volleyball team travels to the mountains of North Carolina with a stop at Appalachian State at 7 pm on Saturday and a match against Western Carolina at 2 pm on Sunday.
TEAM REUNIONS
Baseball Satuday: Report to King Field at Switzer Stadium at 10 am for BP and 11 am for the Alumni Game.
Basketball Friday night: Join the men’s and women’s teams for “Terrier Tip Off” beginning at 8:30 pm in the Benjamin Johnson
Cheerleaders Friday night: Join current Wofford cheerleaders for the Terrier Tip Off in the Benjamin Johnson Arena at 8:30
CC/Track Saturday: Watch both cross country teams compete in the USC Upstate Invitational on the campus of University Upstate. Women start at 10 am, men follow with a 10:30 start. An alumni tent will be set up near the finish line
Football Saturday: All football lettermen meet at the Tailgate lunch at 2:30 pm. All football lettermen will walk to the field for the current Terrier team to run through.
Golf Friday: Sign up for the Upstate Golf Tournament and tour the new practice facilities at the Country Club of Spartanburg.
Rifle Saturday: 8:30 am - 3 pm, Rifle Match, Andrews Fieldhouse.
Soccer Saturday: 11 am, “Meet & Greet” current team members. Alumni Game or Clinic, Snyder Field
Tennis Saturday: 11:30 am – 12:30 pm, Reception and Exhibition, Reeves Tennis Center.
Volleyball Friday: 8 pm, “Meet & Greet” current team members at a Dessert Reception in The Village apartments.
