Hurt Leads Field After Opening Round at Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate

Round One Results

MORGANTON, N.C. – Wofford sophomore Sarah Hurt leads the 78-golfer field at the 2010 Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate after one round of play on Monday.

Hurt carded three birdies and an eagle during her opening round 72 to lead by a stroke over second-place Carolina Sweet (73) from William & Mary.

Wofford sits in fifth place in the fifteen-field tournament with an opening round score of 313, one stroke behind fourth place William and Mary.

Elon recorded an opening round 305 to lead tournament host Western Carolina by a stroke after Monday’s opening round at the par-72, 5,869-yard Mimosa Hills Golf Club. Fellow Southern Conference school Appalachian State holds the third spot after Monday’s round.

The second and final round is scheduled for Tuesday morning with a shotgun start beginning at 9:30 a.m.
