SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- Wofford sophomore Sarah Hurt has been selected as the Southern Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week for all competition from March 31 – April 7.
Hurt claimed the individual title at the 2010 Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate after firing a tournament record three-under par 141 (72-69) over two rounds. The senior finished the tournament four strokes ahead of the nearest challenger and led the Terriers to a fifth-place finish overall. Hurt, who led the tournament with eight birdies, carded an individual-round low of 69 over the final 18 holes en route to the title.
The individual title marks Hurt’s first of her collegiate career. The sophomore from Southlake, Texas leads the team with four top-twenty finishes this season.
Also considered this week was Appalachian State’s Yue Xu, Western Carolina’s Blaire Minter and Elon’s Kelsey Johnson.
