SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford College designated hitter Mac Doyle and third baseman Kyle Behrendt were named to the All-Southern Conference as selected by the conference coaches on Monday. Doyle earned first team honors and Behrendt was named to the second team.

On Tuesday, the voting members of the Southern Conference Sports Media Association (SCSMA) also named Doyle to the first team and Behrendt to the second team.

Doyle, a sophomore from Conway, South Carolina, was second on the team with a .377 batting average and was the team leader with 16 home runs. His 75 RBIs led the team and set a new school single-season record. Among conference leaders, he was first in total bases, first in slugging percentage, first in triples, fourth in batting average, second in RBIs and third in home runs.

He is only the third player in school history to earn first team honors, joining Brandon Waring (2007) and Lee Long (1998).

Behrendt, a senior from Greenwood, S.C., was third on the team with a .374 batting average and second with 85 hits along with 48 RBIs. In the conference standings, he was third in hits, fifth in runs scored, sixth in batting average and seventh in total bases.

For his career, Behrendt is tied for second in hits with 239, fourth in games played second in runs scored, first in doubles and second in extra base hits. He also hit for the cycle at UNC Greensboro earlier this season.

Coaches were not permitted to vote for their own players, while the SCSMA vote was composed of two media members per school.
