NORMAN, Okla. – The Golf Coaches Association of America today released the 2010 Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars. The list included two Wofford men’s golfers, seniors Garrett Medeiros and Mike McKenzie.
To be eligible for Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least two full years at the collegiate level, participate in 70-percent of his team’s competitive rounds or compete in the NCAA Championships, have a stroke-average under 76.0, and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
Medeiros led the team in 2009-10 with a 72.08 stroke average. He won the Davidson College Invitational in October with a one-under 215. McKenzie finished the year with a 74.39 stroke average. He earned a season-best fifth place finish at the Sea Trail Intercollegiate.
