Andy Strickland Signs With Toronto Argonauts

TORONTO, Ontario – The Toronto Argonauts Football Club has signed free agent import wide receiver Andy Strickland through 2013. Strickland graduated from Wofford in 2009 and has spent time with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Atlanta Falcons.

Strickland, a native of Gaffney, S.C., started all twelve games for Wofford in 2008 and led the team with 656 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. He added 13 carries for 217 yards and two touchdowns and also had nine punt returns for 95 yards. The 656 receiving yards were the most by a Terrier since the 1984 season, while the seven touchdowns were the most by a receiver since the 1973 season.

In his career, he had 84 catches for 1544 yards and 15 touchdowns. He is fifth all-time in receiving yards, seventh in career receptions and third in career receiving touchdowns. He was also named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll three times.
