An exciting weekend of Wofford baseball is on tap as the Terriers get set to begin a 5-game homestand with a 3-game series against UNCG this Friday. The homestand concludes May 16 and 17 as Samford visits Russell C. King Field. Wofford is coming off back-to-back series victories over Georgia Southern and The Citadel and carry that momentum into this final stretch before the Southern Conference Tournament begins May 20 in Charleston.
A big highlight to the weekend will be the official welcoming of our new live boston terrier mascot Saturday afternoon. Fans are encouraged to come to the ballpark and take photos with the new "face" of the Terriers, Blitz III (Magnolia) during the game! Blitz III becomes the third official live mascot of Wofford athletics since 2003 and takes the reigns from Blitz II (Ayeryel) who retired at the end of last football season. Our new mascot will roam the sidelines for her first official game on August 30 as the Terrier football team travels to Georgia Tech. Blitz III (Magnolia) is the youngest dog in the modern era of Wofford mascots to recieve this distinction as she was born August 24, 2013. She topped four other worthy finalists in a voting process that involved over 60 Wofford faculty, staff, students and fans earlier this year.
All weekend, the kids will enjoy the Bojangles' "Backyard Ballpark" at Russell C. King Field. The backyard features a wiffleball field and our Terrier Tumbler bouncehouse for kids age 12 and under.
Tickets are only $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for kids age 3-12 unless otherwise noted by one of our special promotions below. Here's a snapshot at this weekend's activities at Russell C. King Field:
