SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford women's golf team sits in fourth place after the opening round of the 2016 Terrier Intercollegiate held at the Country Club of Spartanburg. The two-day, 36 hole tournament concludes Tuesday.

Katy Funk led the Terriers in the opening round, shooting a three over par 75. The senior from Spartanburg, shot -1 on the back nine to cement a solid round. Freshman
Ashley Czarnecki and sophomore Page Moroehead both shot 76. Mooehead, also a native of Spartanburg, birdied two of her final five holes to finish strong.
Grace Massengill and
Nicole Chin had rounds of 78.

Madison Barnett shot 80.
Allyson Markiewicz shot an 81 and
Lela Oakley had a round of 88.

Western Carolina has the team lead with an eight over par round of 296. Georgia Southern follows in second place with a team score of 300, 12 over par on the course. Appalachian State sits in third place with a 15 over par score of 303. The Terrier follow in fourth with a 305 team score, 17 over par and nine shots behind Western Carolina.
