SPARTANBURG, S.C. –
Angie Ridgeway's women's golf team recorded a fifth place finish and two Wofford golfers finished in the top 10 at the Terrier Intercollegiate. The two day, 36 hole tournament, held at the Country Club of Spartanburg, concluded Tuesday.

Grace Massengill had the best round of the day for Wofford, recording a score of 76, four over par on the par 72 course. Massengill's second round was two strokes better than her opening round and the freshman finished tied for 10
th.

Katy Funk had the best overall finish for the Terriers. The senior and native of Spartanburg shot a five over par in Tuesday's round, the second best round for the team. Funk finished with a two day total of 152 and finished tied for eighth place.

Nicole Chin and
Ashley Czarnecki both finished with scores of 156. Chin shot six over par (78) in both of the tournament's rounds, while Czarnecki, a freshman, shot four over par (76) in the opening round and eight over par (80) in the second round.
Page Morehead shot a nine over par 81 in Tuesday's round and her score did not count towards the team total. Morehead, a Spartanburg native, finished with a two day total of 157.

Madison Barnett was the top individual for Wofford as the freshman shot 80 and 79 in the first and second rounds, respectively.
Allyson Markiewicz finished with a score of 170 and
Lela Oakley finished with a score of 172.

Winthrop won the team championship by one shot over Western Carolina. The Eagles finished with a team score of 609, 33 over par. Western Carolina finished second, one shot back and App. State finished in third, two shots back. Georgia Southern recorded a score of 613, four shots behind Winthrop and the Terriers followed in fifth place. Wofford was 40 over par with a two day total of 616.

Natalia Villavicencio of Western Carolina took home the individual title as she finished two over par for the tournament, edging out Iben Hvass of Georgia Southern.

Wofford returns to the course this weekend at the Bill Berg Invitational in Hayesville, N.C. Western Carolina hosts the three day tournament, Oct. 16-18.
