Men's Golf Finishes 12th at Camden Collegiate

CAMDEN, S.C. – The Wofford men's golf team took home a 12th place finish at the Camden Collegiate Invitational. The tournament, hosted by the University of South Carolina, was held at the esteemed Camden Country Club Oct. 21-22.

The 17 teams in the field played 36 holes on Saturday and a final 18 holes on Sunday to conclude play. For the purpose of the tournament, the course played par 70 at 6,455.
The 12th place finished is the best of the fall for the Terriers. Wofford shot 294 in the first round, 291 in the second round, the team's best of the tournament, and 300 in Sunday's final round to finish 45 over par with a total score of 885.

"The guys were really close," said head coach Alex Hamilton. "We had a chance after nine holes today to put a very good tournament together, but we let it slip away a little on the back nine. Hopefully we can learn from this weekend and finish our fall strong in Alabama next weekend."

South Carolina won the tournament with a one over par team score, 12 shots better than second place James Madison. USC Aiken, Elon, and Francis Marion rounded out the top five. Wofford was just three shots from cracking the top 10.
