SPARTANBURG, S.C- Wofford volleyball coach Lynze Roos announced the addition of Taylor Gill to the program on Monday afternoon. Gill, a 5'10 sophomore defensive specialist, is a transfer from Ole Miss and enrolled in Wofford for the spring semester.

"We're really excited to add Taylor to the squad this spring," said Roos. "She adds some depth to our ball control, and she is a solid defensive player."

Gill, a native of Madison, Alabama, played in 16 of the Rebels' matches in 2016.  She recorded 10 digs, eight service aces, and three assists as Ole Miss went 17-14 on the season.

In 2015, Gill saw action in 62 sets. She tallied 21 assists, 13 service aces and 95 digs, recording double digit digs in 10 matches en route to helping Ole Miss to the most home wins in school history.

Gill was also named to the All-SEC Academic Team and the SEC First Year Academic Honor Roll, while also being named to the Chancellor's list each of her three semesters at Ole Miss.

"Getting to know Taylor through the transfer process, she is hungry to contribute to the program and help us toward our goal of winning a SoCon title." Roos added.  "She is a tremendous team player and a great communicator, as well as an impressive athlete.  We are anxious to see how she can impact our team defense and serve receive."

Prior to college, Gill was a four year varsity starter at Madison Academy where she earned four MVP honors while leading the team to four Area titles.  Gill helped Madison Academy to three regional championships and two state runner-up finishes, and was named All-State three times in her career.

At the club level, Gill played for NASA (North Alabama Spikers Association) under coach Kelly Emerson.

Gill will be eligible to play with the Terriers beginning in the spring and plans to major in accounting.
