Garcia Named NABC First-Team All District

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced its NCAA Division I All-District teams and coaches this week. Wofford's Eric Garcia was named First Team All-District 22.
 
Selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC, these student-athletes and coaches represent the finest basketball players and coaches across America. The NABC groups men's basketball programs into 25 districts and votes on five-member first and second teams in all districts.
 
Joining Garcia on the on the All-District 22 First Team were Furman's Devin Sibley and Kris Acox, ETSU's T.J. Cromer and Chattanooga's Justin Tuoyo.
 
Garcia led the Southern Conference with 6.8 assists per game and his 3.8 assist to turnover ratio was also best in the league. He currently sits third in both of those categories nationally. The senior from Aurora, Colorado shot 92.1% from the free throw line to lead the conference. He averaged 33.7 minutes per game, second most among all SoCon players.
 
At the end of the regular season, Garcia was named a First Team All-Southern Conference selection by both the league's coaches and media. He ended his Wofford career with 1,260 points, ranking 23rd in program history. He tallied 537 career assists, second all-time and tops in the Division 1 era and became Wofford's first player with 1,000 career points and 500 career assists. His 226 assists his senior season broke the Wofford record for most assists in a season.
