Women's Golf Finishes 16^th at UNF Collegiate
 
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Wofford women's golf team concluded play Tuesday in the team's second tournament of the spring, the UNF Collegiate, hosted by North Florida. The two day, 54-hole tournament was held March 6-7 at the Jacksonville Golf and Country Club. Wofford finished 16^th in the field of 16.
 
The Terriers improved in each round. Wofford shot 327 in the first round on Monday, but rebounded to shoot 10 shots better on the second 18 holes on Monday. The Terriers shot 316 in Tuesday's final round and finished the tournament with a three day total of 960.
 
Nicole Chin recorded Wofford's highest individual finish. The junior, playing in the No. 5 spot in the lineup, tied for 55^th. Chin shot 76, 80, 80 over her three rounds to shoot 236 (+20) for the tournament.
 
Madison Barnett had the second best finish for the Terriers. The freshman finished tied for 63^rd with rounds of 83, 81, and 74. Her final round 74 was the best round of the tournament by a Wofford golfer. Her three day total was 238, 22 over par.
 
Grace Massengill, playing in the top spot in the lineup, shot 83 in the opening round. She shot seven strokes better in the second round and carded a 76. The freshman shot 81 in the final round and finished with a total score of 240,
 
Katy Funk, the lone senior in the lineup, had rounds of 85, 80 and 81. Sophomore Page Morehead
shot 85, 86, 86.
 
Southern Mississippi and Memphis tied atop the leaderboard, but Southern Mississippi was declared the champion via a scorecard tiebreaker. Both teams shot 895 for the tournament and finished one stroke ahead of Old Dominion and Daytona State College who tied for third.
 
The women's golf team next takes the course March 18-19 when the Terriers host the Low Country Intercollegiate at Moss Creek Golf Club on Hilton Head Island.
