GASTONIA, N.C. – The Wofford men's golf team concluded regular season play today as the Terriers recorded a 14^th place finish in the Gary Koch Invitational. The two-day, 54 hole tournament, held at the Gaston Country Club April 10-11, was co-hosted by Kentucky and Auburn. Fourteen teams competed in the event.
 
Wofford shot 307 and 300 in the first two rounds, played on Monday. In Tuesday's final round, the Terriers shot 308. Wofford finished with a total score of 915, 18 shots behind 13^th place Southern Illinois.
 
Auburn, ranked No, 20 nationally, won the tournament with a total team score of 846, eight shots better than runner-up North Carolina State. Coastal Carolina, Georgia Southern and Louisiana Monroe rounded out the top five.
 
Andrew Novak was Wofford's top golfer. Playing in the No. 1 spot, Novak shot 79 in the first round but rebounded to shoot 70 and 71 in the final two rounds, respectively. The senior from Mt. Pleasant finished with a total score of 220 and in a tie for 34th place.
 
Harrison Frye, a native of Gastonia, was the second best Terrier of the tournament. Frye, playing at his home course, shot 77, 75, and 80 over three rounds.
 
Jeremy Grab, playing in the No. 2 spot for Wofford, recorded a total score of 234. The senior shot 74 and 75 in Monday's two rounds but struggled on Tuesday, carding an 85.
 
Walker Simas, the only freshman in Wofford's lineup, also finished with a total score of 234. Simas shot 77 and 81 in Monday's two rounds and finished with his best round of the tournament, shooting 76 on Tuesday.
 
Drake Cassidy, playing in the No. 5 spot, shot 79, 80 and 81 in the three rounds, respectively.
 
The Terriers return to the course April 23-25 in the Southern Conference tournament. This year's conference tournament is being held at Pinehurst No. 9 in Pinehurst, N.C.
