SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford College football program announced the signings of eleven student-athletes to National Letters of Intent during the early signing period. These join the six student-athletes that signed in January for a class of 17 players.

The Terriers will welcome seven players on defense and nine players on offense, plus one athlete. The student-athletes are from eight different states, including five from South Carolina, four from Florida and three from Georgia.

On defense, the seven players include four linebackers, two linemen and one defensive back. On offense, the ten players include three offensive linemen, three running backs, two wide receivers, and one quarterback.

"When we got here in January we identified some of the needs that we had to compliment the group of six guys who signed in December," said head coach
Josh Conklin. "We feel like we met all of those needs today."

On defense, the newcomers include defensive linemen Elijah Ball (Rome, Ga.) and Corey Prince (Lauderhill, Fla,) along with linebackers Randy Fuller (Trenton, Fla.), Zy Abercrombie (Greenwood, S.C.), Tanner Barnes (Simpsonville, S.C.) and T.J. Neal (Hendersonville, Tenn.). Isaiah Walker (Jacksonville, Fla.) joins the secondary.

Offensive linemen Al Hogan (Fayetteville, Ga.), Quashon Greenlee (Anderson, S.C.), and Nick Russo (Chester, N.J.) signed for the offense. Running backs Colby Wood (Jefferson, Ga.), Nathan Walker (Ridgeville, S.C.) and D'Mauriae VanCleave (Danville, Ky.) are joined by wide receivers T.J. Luther (Arcadia, Fla.) and Landon Parker (Concord, N.C.). Quarterback Jimmy Weirick (Pickering, Ohio) and athlete Dre Yarbough (Greenwood, S.C.) round out the class.
The Terriers will begin spring practice on Wednesday, February 14, in preparation for the 2018 season opener against The Citadel.

The eligibility of all student-athletes is contingent upon admission to Wofford College and compliance with all NCAA rules, including registration with the NCAA Eligibility Center.

Zy Abercrombie (6-0, 195, Greenwood, S.C.) played safety at Emerald High School for coach Tim McMahon. As a senior he had 82 tackles and four interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown. He earned All-State, All-Region and All-Lakelands honors. During his junior season, had 108 tackles and five interceptions, two of which he returned for touchdowns, and he was named the team's defensive player of the year. He also plays basketball for Emerald High School. His brother, Osharmar, played football at Coastal Carolina and had 351 career carries for 1922 yards and 22 touchdowns.
Elijah Ball (6-2, 280, Rome, Ga.) started the last two seasons at defensive tackle for the Darlington School and head coach Tommy Atha. As a senior he was named to the Rome All-Area Team as the team was 8-5 and reached the Elite 8 in the playoffs. He also lettered in wrestling and in track and field finished fourth in the state in the shot put and second in the state in the discus. His brother, Dakota, played on the defensive line at Alabama from 2012-16.
Tanner Barnes (6-3, 205, Simpsonville, S.C.) started the past two seasons at Hillcrest High School for coach Greg Porter. As a senior, he recorded 115 tackles, 18.5 sacks and six tackles for loss to earn All-Region honors. His sack total led Class 5A. The team was 10-3 overall and were region champions. During his junior year he had 81 tackles and nine sacks, along with 21 tackles for loss. He also played basketball this winter. He will graduate from Brashier Middle College Charter High School.
Randy Fuller (5-11, 200, Trenton, Fla.) was a four-year letterman in football at Trenton High for coach Andrew Thomas. As a senior, played linebacker, fullback, running back and kicker. He had 1,002 rushing yards, 41 receiving yards and scored 82 total points. He recorded 132 total tackles as a junior, in addition to 197 receiving yards, 551 rushing yards and 76 points scored. Team won the state championship his sophomore season when he had 92 total tackles. Also won a state championship with the baseball team as the designated hitter and ran track. His sister, Taylore, played softball at the University of Florida from 2013-16 and is second in school history with eight grand slams.
Quashon Greenlee (6-2, 285, Anderson, S.C.) was a four-year letterman on the offensive line at T.L. Hanna High School. As a senior, he started at guard as the team posted an 11-1 record for coach Jeff Herron. Greenlee had 48 pancake blocks as a senior and 35 as a junior. He played in the 2017 Shrine Bowl and was named All-Region in addition to serving as team captain for T.L. Hanna. He also competed on the track and field team, finishing fifth in the region in the shot put last spring.
Al Hogan (6-4, 285, Fayetteville, Ga.) was a four-year starter on the offensive line at Landmark Christian School for head coach Wayne Brantley. As a senior he had 65 knockdown blocks in ten games as he earned All-State and All-Region honors. During his junior season had 84 knockdown blocks in 12 games as the team was 10-2 overall and reached the second round of the playoffs. He was also a three-year letterman on the wrestling team, earning All-Region honors.
T.J. Luther (6-0, 175, Arcadia, Fla.) was a four-year starter at Port Charlotte High School, where he was coached by Wofford football alum Jordan Ingman. As a senior playing wide receiver he had 724 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns, along with 262 rushing yards and six touchdowns. At safety, he had three interceptions and 40 tackles. He earned first team All-Area honors as a junior and senior and All-Region as a senior, along with
Charlotte Sun Player of the Year honors. He also competed in the long jump and triple jump on the track team, finishing sixth in the state in the triple jump last season.
T.J. Neal (6-1, 205, Nashville, Tenn.) played defensive back, linebacker and running back for four seasons at Hillsboro High School. As a senior he had 70 tackles, 25 tackles for loss, 18.5 sacks and five forced fumbles, along with 12 pass break-ups. He was named All-State, All-Region and All-City, along with Region Defensive Player of the Year honors. During his junior season he had 62 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks.
Landon Parker (6-2, 190, Concord, N.C.) was a three-year starter at Mt. Pleasant High School for coach Mike Johns. As a senior he had 54 catches for 1,210 yards and 17 touchdowns, while also punting and returning kicks. He was named Rocky River Conference Special Teams Player of the Year, All-County, All-Region and North Carolina Preps All-State. During his junior year he averaged 29 yards per kickoff return and returned three punts for touchdowns. He also lettered three years in basketball and two years in baseball. His father, Daren, played football at South Carolina and for the Denver Broncos, his mother played volleyball at South Carolina, while his brother played football at Duke.
Corey Prince (6-0, 280, Lauderhill, Fla.) was a four-year starter on the defensive line at Chaminade-Madonna. As a senior, the team was 11-2 for coach Dameon Jones and won the 3A State Championship. Price and 64 tackles, 20 tackles for loss and 11 sacks as he earned second team All-County honors. During his junior year he had 70 tackles, 31 tackles for loss and 11 sacks and was named third team All-State. The team was 10-4 and was state runner-up. For his career, 210 total tackles and 82 tackles for loss, along with seven fumble recoveries.
Nick Russo (6-2, 290, Chester, N.J.) was a three-year starter on the offensive line at St. Joseph Regional High School for coach Augie Hoffmann. As a senior he was named first team All-Bergen County and first team All-Metro as he had 22 pancake blocks and scored one touchdown. During his junior season the team was 9-2 and won the state championship as he was second team All-Bergen County. He also threw the shot in the track team.
D'mauriae VanCleave (5-7, 155, Danville, Ky.) was named Kentucky's Mr. Football, accounting for 1,095 receiving yards, 762 rushing yards and 29 all-purpose touchdowns. He helped Danville High School to a 13-0 record for coach Clay Clevenger and win the school's first state title since 2003. He was the state championship game MVP with 218 all-purpose yards and four touchdowns, along with two interceptions on defense. He received All-State honors his sophomore, junior and senior seasons. He also played basketball, baseball, and ran track for Danville.
Isaiah Walker (6-0, 190, Jacksonville, Fla.) played defense for four seasons at Fleming Island High School. As a senior, he had 115 tackles and four sacks at safety. He earned first team All-Conference and first team All-County honors. He also ran the 100 and 200 meters on the track team. His mother, Amy, played volleyball and basketball at West Alabama.
Nathan Walker (6-0, 213, Cross, S.C.) A standout at running back and linebacker at Cross High School for coach Shaun Wright. As a senior, ran for 1,417 yards on 136 carries with 17 touchdowns, along with 94 tackles on defense. He was named All-State, Class A Defensive Player of the Year, Berkeley County Defensive Player of the Year, All-Low Country, Region 5 Player of the Year and played in the Shrine Bowl. During his junior year, had 1,256 yards on 113 carries with 14 touchdowns, plus 87 tackles at linebacker to earn All-State and All-Region honors. Also plays basketball and runs sprints and hurdles for the track team.
Jimmy Weirick (5-11, 180, Pickering, Ohio) started for four seasons at quarterback for Pickerington North. As a senior, he threw for 2,680 yards and 34 touchdowns while rushing for 1,083 yards and twelve touchdowns. He earned first team All-District, All-Metro and All-Ohio honors, along with All-Ohio D1 Offensive Player of the Year honors. He holds all passing records at Pickerington North. During his junior season he threw for 2,827 yards and 28 touchdowns, along with 364 rushing yards and seven touchdowns. He also played basketball and competed in the high jump on the track team. His brother, Frankie, won the 2016 national championship with Mount Union.
Colby Wood (5-10, 190, Jefferson, Ga.) is the all-time leading rusher at Jefferson High School. In his career, he ran for 5,786 yards and 79 touchdowns. The 79 touchdowns rank 15
th all-time in the state of Georgia. He helped lead Jefferson to four state playoff appearances, including one trip to the semifinals. As a sophomore he had 2,119 yards rushing and 32 touchdowns on 322 carries to earn
Athens Banner-Herald Player of the Year honors, which he repeated as during his junior year with 1,642 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns.
Dre Yarbough (5-8, 165, Greenwood, S.C.) played quarterback at Greenwood High School for coach Dan Pippen. As a senior he set a school record with 3,697 total yards. He was named the Region 2 5A Player of the Year, All-Region, All-Lakelands and played in the North-South All-Star game. Yarbough broke 10 Greenwood records this season, including Armanti Edwards' mark for total offense in a season of 3,467 yards.
