HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Wofford women's golf team recorded a sixth place finish at the Low Country Intercollegiate. The two day, 36 hole tournament, hosted by Wofford, was held at the par 72 North Course at Moss Creek Golf Club. Fourteen teams competed in the event.
Wofford shot 310 (+22) in Saturday's first round and 316 (+28) in Sunday's final round to finish sixth in the field with a total score of 626. Wofford's first round 310 was tied for the fourth best team score of the round.
Seton Hall won the tournament with a score of 609 (+33), eight shots ahead of runner-up Albany. Appalachian State's Melany Chong won the individual title by shooting +3.
Grace Massengill was the top Terrier in the event. The sophomore tied for 12
th with back-to-back rounds of 77.
Nicole Chin, the lone senior, was right behind. Chin tied for 16
th at +11, carding an opening round 77 and a second round 78.
Anna Eddy shot 77 and 81 in her two rounds and the freshman tied for 23
rd at +14.
Lina Settelmayer, a freshman, shot 79 on Saturday and 80 on Saturday to finish +15 and tie for 29
th.
Abby Bloom shot 85 and 94 in her two rounds and finished in 68
th.
Wofford only has one regular season event left. The Terriers will compete in the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate, hosted by head coach
Angie Ridgeway's alma mater, Appalachian State, on April 1-2. The Southern Conference Championship is set for April 15-17 at the South Course at Moss Creek Golf Club.
