Box Score CULLOWHEE, N.C. – The Wofford women's tennis team fell 4-3 at Western Carolina on Sunday afternoon. With the loss Wofford falls to 8-6 and 0-3 in the SoCon while Western Carolina moves to 8-5 and 2-1 in the conference.
 
Wofford and Western Carolina fought back and forth in the doubles competition but the Catamounts came out on top to hold the 1-0 advantage at the end of team play. Wofford's lineup for doubles was as followed: No. 1 Cassidy Hicks/Jenna Vroman, #2 Curran Carver/Brittney Wilbur, #3 Lauren Reid/Samantha Russell. Despite dropping the team point, Hicks/Vroman pulled out a 7-6 victory from the number one position.
 
After falling in the team competition the Terriers saw Western win the first six sets but Wofford continued to fight and won three of the six matches. The Terriers lineup for singles was as followed: No. 1 Hicks, No. 2 Vroman, No. 3 Reid, No. 4 Carver, No. 5 Wilbur and No. 6 Samantha Russell. Western opened singles play with a victory from the number five spot but the Terriers won three straight matches thanks to Reid, Vroman and Hicks. With the match hanging in the balance the Catamounts won the final two matches to clinch the team victory.
 
The Terriers will return to the court on Saturday, March 31 when Wofford travels to Johnson City to face off against ETSU at 1 PM.
