SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Former Wofford College kicker David Marvin has signed an undrafted free agent contract with the Atlanta Falcons. Marvin, who graduated from Wofford in 2017, played his fifth year at the University of Georgia.
 
As a senior at Wofford, he played in all 14 games and made 17 of 23 field goals to set a new school single season record. His 92 kicking points also set a new school record. He combined with Brian Sanders to lead the nation in net punting (41.63 yards). He was named All-Southern Conference first team kicker by the coaches and media, while also earning first team All-SoCon punter honors by the media and second team All-SoCon by the coaches. He was named to the STATS FCS and HEROES All-America first teams.
 
During his junior season, he played in all eleven games and led the team in scoring with 60 points, He finished 10-of-13 on field goals with a long of 50 yards, made 30-of-34 extra points, and averaged 56.6 yards per kickoff with 17 touchbacks. As a sophomore, played in nine games and was second on the team in scoring with 42 points. He was 27-of-30 on PATs and 5-of-6 on field goals. Despite missing two games due to injury, was named to the Southern Conference All-Freshman Team. He did not play as a true freshman in 2013.
 
He ended his Terrier career with the most field goals in school history (32) and is third in career field goal percentage (32-42), Marvin recorded seven of the ten longest field goals in school history and is tied for the longest field goal in SoCon history (57 yards). A member of Phi Beta Kappa, he was selected to the FCS ADA Academic All-Star Team along with the Southern Conference Fall All-Academic Team. Marvin, a biology and chemistry double major, was also named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team twice.
 
Marvin joins other recent undrafted free agent signings from Wofford, including Andy Strickland (2009). Pat Illig (2010), Tommy Irvin (2010), Brenton Bersin (2011), Alvin Scioneaux (2013), and Kasey Redfern (2013).
