Justin Sanders

Justin Sanders enters his third year with the Terriers in 2022, as head Coach Lynze Roos announced the addition of Justin Sanders to the Wofford Volleyball staff on February 3, 2020.

In 2021, the Terriers achieved a 17-14 overall mark and a 9-7 Southern Conference record. Wofford finished the regular season tied for third in the league, its highest-ever finish, and received the No. 4 seed for the SoCon Tournament to tie for the best in program history. The Terriers reached the SoCon Championship Game for the first time since 2017 before falling short to The Citadel. Three Terriers earned All-Southern Conference honors, with Sarah Barham and Emily Hodsdon being selected to the Second Team and Sarah MacLean earning an All-Freshman honor. With 138 blocks, Barham set a single-season program record.

Sanders has spent two seasons as the assistant coach for both indoor and beach volleyball at Jacksonville State from 2018-2019, helping lead the Gamecocks to and 18-14 record in his first season, as the team won its first postseason match ine nine years (OVC Tournament). Last season, Jacksonville State won the OVC Regular-Season Championship with a record of 13-3. 
 
Prior to his time at Jacksonville State, Sanders spent a three-year stint as the student manager for the University of Kentucky women's volleyball team. As manager, Sanders' duties involved equipment setup, statistical keeping and analysis and film management for all matches. Over his three years on staff, the Wildcats posted a 73-22 record and reached the NCAA Tournament each year, including an Elite Eight appearance in 2017.
 
The Lexington, Ky., native also spent time playing for UK's men's volleyball team as a middle blocker. The squad made it to the Final Four in St. Louis in his final year, before falling to Cal Poly. Between his men's and women's programs, Sanders also served as a club coach for Lexington's United Volleyball Club.
 
Sanders graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Exercise Science.
