Wofford surrenders late goal to fall to Belmont

Box Score NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Wofford men's soccer allowed a goal with just over three minutes remaining and dropped a 1-0 decision to Belmont Friday evening in Nashville, Tenn.

The game was played fairly even with the Bruins holding a slight 10-9 shot advantage. However, the Terriers maintained a 3-1 edge in shots on goal against Belmont (5-3).

Belmont tallied the lone score at 86:54 when Wade Wonderlin knocked home a deflection off Brett Parker's original attempt past Wofford (4-5) junior goalkeeper Thomas Hunter, who was making his first start of the season and his first since Oct. 28, 2006, against UNC Greensboro in the Southern Conference Tournament.

Sophomore Wilson Hood paced the Terriers with three shots, while Will Moorad also collected a trio of attempts for the Bruins.

Wofford will continue its weekend in Nashville with a 2 p.m. (EST) Sunday meeting against Lipscomb.
