CHARLESTON, S.C. -- The College of Charleston women’s volleyball team defeated the Wofford College Terriers 3-0 (25-11, 25-23, 25-18) Saturday in a Southern Conference match in Carolina First Arena.
In the opening set College of Charleston turned a 5-4 lead into a 14-5 lead as they cruised to a 25-11 win. The Cougars out hit the Terriers .400 to .074 in the set. They also had 17 total points compared to only nine for Wofford.
In the second set, the Terriers had the early lead as they took a 16-9, but College of Charleston rallied tie the match at 21. The Cougars won four of the last six points to take the set 25-23.
The third set started was similar to the first one, as the Cougars led start to finish as they claimed the set 25-18 to clinch the match.
The Terriers were led by Stacy Byrd, who had eight kills, and Rachel Woodlee, who had six kills. Bekah Dorsey handed out 13, and Reagan Styles had 15 digs.
The Terriers will play their final game of the season Sunday at The Citadel.
