SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- The Wofford College volleyball team defeated Converse College 3-0 (25-12, 25-12, 25-19) Wednesday night in a nonconference match in Hannah Gymnasium to improve to 11-6 this season.

Wofford took the opening two sets with ease 25-12, 25-12 before the Valykries gave the Terriers a fight in the third set.

The two teams stayed deadlocked until Wofford broke a 13-13 tie with a with a 2-0 run.  However, Converse rallied to tie the set at 17.  Trailing 18-17 Wofford, mounted a 7-2 run to close the set, 25-19, and complete the sweep.

Taylor Baird paced the Terriers offensively with eight kills on 17 attempts with only one error for .412 hitting percentage.  Arden Anderson set a new personal best with seven kills on eight swings for a .875 hitting percentage.  Rachel Woodlee added seven kills, and Kelsey Bagwell chipped in with five kills.  Bekah Dorsey and Tara Gough had 18 and 12 kills respectively.  Dorsey had a team-high five service aces, and Wendy Burnett led the team with three total blocks.  Reagan Styles collected a team-high 13 digs.

Wofford will return to Southern Conference action Saturday night against Chattanooga in Benjamin Johnson Arena at 7 p.m.
