CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Wofford women’s volleyball team fell 3-0 (25-7, 25-10, 25-20) to the College of Charleston Saturday afternoon in the TD Arena in a Southern Conference match.
 
The Terriers fall to 10-8 overall and 1-5 in the SoCon, while the Cougars improve to 13-5 overall and 4-0 in conference play.
 
In the opening set, the Cougars ran out to a 14-4 lead and pushed the lead out to 23-8.  CofC took the opening set 25-10.
 
The second set saw the College of Charleston storm out to a 15-5 lead en route to a 25-7 win.
 
In the third set, Wofford fell behind 10-5, but battled back to cut the deficit to 13-10.  The College of Charleston extended the lead to 17-11 only to see Wofford pull within two points, 17-15.  The Cougars held on to take the set 25-20.
 
Wofford was outhit .293 to -.021.
 
Amanda Liguori led Wofford with five kills, while Taylor Baird added four kills.   Reagan Styles picked up 11 digs.
 
Darcy Dorton led the Cougars with 17 kills and .394 hitting percentage.  Taeler Davis handed out 32 assists, while Emily Shelton had 16 digs.
 
Wofford returns to the court against Appalachian State Friday October 12 at 6 p.m.
