MACON, Ga. – The Wofford College women's basketball team suffered an 80-32 loss at the hands of the Mercer University Bears Thursday night at Hawkins Arena.

The Terriers (9-18, 3-10 SoCon) were held to their season-low in points and committed 35 turnovers in the defeat to the Bears (21-7, 11-2 SoCon). Mercer jumped out to a 46-13 advantage at the half to pace their way to victory.

Forward
Kentra Washington led the Terriers offensively with 10 points, scoring in double figures for the ninth consecutive game. Only seven other times in the program's history has a player scored in double-figures that many times in the team's Division I era, with the longest streak at 13 games done by Frazier last season and former Terrier guard Jenny Nett in 2001.

Washington also contributed four rebounds and a team-high three assists. Guard
Chanel Stokes and forward
Peyton Walker tied for the team-lead in rebounds with five.

Mercer guard Kahlia Lawrence scored 25 points on 10-16 shooting to lead the Bears. Guard KeKe Calloway also scored in double-figures, adding 15 points on 6-9 shooting. Forwards Amanda Thompson and Kayla Potts had a team-high five rebounds each.

The Bears shot 49.3 percent from the floor in the game and held Wofford to 25.6 percent shooting. The Terriers outrebounded Mercer 35-28.

Wofford plays its final regular season game Saturday when the team travels to Birmingham, Ala., to face the Samford Bulldogs. Tip-off is 6 p.m. CT, 7 p.m. ET.
