Register Now for Youth Day October 22!

Fall tradition for middle and high school youth returns to Wofford

UPDATED INFORMATION AS OF SEPTEMBER 28, 2016.

The date has been set for the 2016 edition of Church Youth Group Day at Wofford. This year's event will take place Saturday, October 22 in conjunction with the football game vs. The Citadel, which is Homecoming on the Wofford campus.

For decades, youth groups have made the pilgrimage to Wofford during the fall to take part in what was once known as "UMYF Day" and more recently has been re-named to include youth of all denominations. To view this year's promotional postcard, click here.  This event is ideal for middle and high school age youth groups. It should be noted that 'groups' can be of any size, there is no minimum number to attend the event as the aggregate number of attendees constitutes the larger 'group' in the event name.

Church Youth Group Day will be a full day of celebrating faith, fellowship, fun and football. Preceding the football game, groups will be treated to music, interactives, and a message to the group delivered by Wofford College Campus Union chaplain Will Randall '19 and Wofford's Perkins-Prothro Chaplain and Professor of Religion, Ron Robinson. The "pregame" event will be held on the Brittain Family Plaza located in front of the Joe E. Taylor Center ("JET" Center) along Cumming Street and adjacent to Gibbs Stadium.   Following the message, lunch for the entire group will be served inside Gibbs Stadium in the "Grill Zone" area catered by Fuddrucker's. The Grill Zone overlooks the North End Zone. The entire Grill Zone is reserved for the youth to hang out, play cornhole and slide down the hill for the entire game.

Registration is $20 per person which includes game tickets, a meal voucher for the Grill Zone, and - NEW THIS YEAR - a Wofford t-shirt! The registration deadline is Friday, October 14 to accommodate catering and t-shirt orders. To register your church, please call Elizabeth Fields in the Halligan Center for Religious and Spiritual Life at (864) 597-4050 or Wofford Sports Marketing assistant Amber Flowers at (864) 597-4023.
This event is rain or shine and once tickets are purchased there are no refunds.

If you don't have a youth group, but wish to attend this or another Wofford football game this season as a group (i.e. men's/women's groups or circles), inquire about group rate tickets that start as low as $8.00 per person!  For a complete schedule, click here.
Church Youth Day is co-hosted by the Halligan Center for Religious and Spiritual Life and Wofford Sports Marketing.

PARKING INFORMATION
Church vans will have a designated location to park this year.  For those who have come in previous years, several construction projects have changed the landscape around Gibbs Stadium dramatically.  It is VERY important to heed this parking map (also shown below) and park in the correct location. Parking for church vans (Sprinter van and smaller) is $10 per vehicle. Any church using a charter bus, must call for more specific parking instructions.

DROP-OFF PROHIBITED
Due to heavy traffic expected for Homecoming and the location of the pregame event this year in front of the Joe E. Taylor Center, dropping off youth at the location is strictly prohibited unless someone has a medical need. Handicapped parking is available for a church van and if that is needed, please call in advance so these arrangements may be made.

WHAT TO BRING
We encourage you to bring a tailgate chair both or blanket for the pregame event as well as to take in the stadium for use inside the Grill Zone.  There are tables and chairs for the Grill Zone but we anticipate serving the meal in rotation 72-80 patrons at a time.  If you do not have a tailgate chair, no worries, your game ticket (which also serves as your Grill Zone meal ticket) is good for seating in Section H8.  We encourage you to bring a bottle of water with you for the pregame event and all the fun interactives you can enjoy both near the JET Center and at the nearby "TerrierLand" Kids Zone.  Please make sure the water bottle is recyclable because outside food and drink is not allowed inside the Gibbs Stadium gates.

ON THE MENU
The Grill Zone is catered by Fuddrucker's and for a more complete look at what is offered, click here. All Church Youth Group Day meals are considered the "kids" meal size. The meal serving rotation will begin approximately 12:30 pm.
