CLEMSON, S.C. – The volleyball team was outhit .378 to .125 and was defeated in three sets by High Point in its 2016 season opener (25-19, 25-17, 25-17) Friday evening at Jervey Gym. The match was the first of three for the Terriers at Clemson's Big Orange Bash.

Colleen Reilly highlighted Wofford's performance. The duo posted identical hitting lines of five kills and one error on 11 swings (.364). However, the rest of Wofford's attack hit a combined .053, and High Point took advantage. Haley Barnes led all players with 11 kills (.429) for the Panthers.

Bijonae Jones led all Terriers in both kills and digs. The Blythewood native racked up a career-high six kills to go with seven digs, and also tallied a block and an ace for a career-high 7.5 points.

Five Terriers made their collegiate debuts. Bossert posted two blocks to go with her five kills, setters
Lorissa King and
M.E. Eberhardt combined for 19 of the team's 21 assists, outside hitter
Catie Cronister had five digs, four kills and an ace, and libero
Madeline Savage gathered six digs to go with two assists, an ace and a block.

The Terriers are slated for two more matches on Saturday. Day 2 of the Big Orange Bash gets under way with Wofford taking on William & Mary at 11 a.m. The Terriers then await the host Clemson Tigers to close the weekend festivities at 7 p.m. The match against Clemson will air online via ACC Network Extra.
