KENNESAW, GA – The Wofford women's basketball team scored the first 15 points of the game and never looked back, defeating Kennesaw State, 78-49, on Monday afternoon at KSU Convocation Center.

The Terriers used a balanced scoring attack, with four players in double figures.
Chloe Wanink and
Kentra Washington continued their outstanding play of late, with both scoring 16 points on a combined 12 of 15 from the floor. Wanink also added four rebounds and a season high four assists. Coming off the bench, junior forward
Kelsey Lambdin recorded her first career double-double, scoring 10 points and pulling down a career best 10 rebounds. Senior forward
Grayson Pinholster was in double figures rebounding again, grabbing 10 and finishing with nine points in limited minutes.

Wofford raced out to a fast start, scoring the game's first 15 points and keeping Kennesaw State off the scoreboard for the first 5:22 of the game. Pinholster established her advantage early, scoring seven points and grabbing five rebounds in the first period. Wanink added five of her own to give the Terriers a comfortable 26-8 lead at the end of the first.

The Terriers also started the second with suffocating defense, holding the Owls scoreless for four and a half minutes. Overall, Wofford finished the first half shooting 59% from the floor, 43% from three, and 86% from the free throw line. Pinholster pulled in 10 rebounds to go with nine points, with Wanink going for 12 and
Kentra Washington making all four of her field goal attempts for 10 first half points.

The team did not let up in the second half, going on an 8-2 run in the first two and a half minutes of the third quarter. In the middle of the third, Wofford stretched its lead to as much as 35 points, before the Owls cut the deficit under 30 to begin the fourth.

The final period gave a number of Terrier reserves the opportunity to see action. Freshman forward
Jamie Grob earned a career high in minutes and scored the first field goal of her career on a fourth quarter layup.

Wofford finished the game at 52% from the field, the second time in the last three games in which they have shot over 50%. The Terriers also had another game with a positive assist to turnover ratio, tallying 17 assists to 15 turnovers. The team controlled the paint from the beginning of the game, outscoring Kennesaw State, 34-24 inside.

Wofford's defense was solid throughout the game, holding the Owls to just 49 points on 27% shooting. It is the second time in the last four games that the Terriers have held an opponent to under 50 points on less than 30% shooting. They also accomplished the feat in their 59-45 win at Charleston Southern (Dec. 19).

Wofford has just one remaining nonconference game on the season, a Jan. 19 home slate against Montreat. The team's nine nonconference wins this season are the most since the program joined the SoCon in the 1997-98 season.
