MACON, GA. – The Wofford women's basketball team could not overcome a tough shooting game and fell to Mercer, 54-39, on Saturday afternoon at Hawkins Arena.

Despite holding the Bears to just 38% shooting with outstanding defense, the Terrier offense was held to a season low 39 points on just 28% from the field.

Maria Corella was the lone Terrier to reach double figures. She finished with 12 points.
Kelsey Lambdin added nine points and five rebounds, while
Grayson Pinholster delivered eight points and six rebounds.

The Terriers hung with the Bears in the first quarter despite shooting just 31% from the field.
Kelsey Lambdin led the team with five points in the first ten minutes. Wofford took care of the ball against Mercer's tough zone defense, delivering five assists to just three turnovers in the period.

Mercer's defense continued to control the game in the second quarter, as the Terriers were held to just 10 points in the second. Wofford was held without a field goal for the final 6:37 of the quarter. For the first half, the Bears built their eight point lead mainly due to the Terriers struggles from behind the arc. Wofford was only able to connect on 1 of 12 three point attempts in the opening 20 minutes.

The Terriers kept the Mercer lead from growing any larger in the third quarter mainly due to outstanding defense. They held the Bears to just 22% from the field in the quarter.

In the fourth, the Bears were able to lengthen their lead to double digits and emerge with the win.

KeKe Calloway led Mercer with 13 points. Reigning SoCon player of the week Kahlia Lawrence was held to just nine points.

Despite the loss, the Terriers did have 13 assists to just 11 turnovers.

The loss drops the Terriers to 2-3 in conference play and 12-8 on the season.
