SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford volleyball team fell 1-3 to ETSU on Friday night in Richardson Indoor Stadium. With the loss, Wofford falls to 14-7 on the season and 4-3 in conference action, while ETSU improves to 10-9 overall 6-2 in Southern Conference play. The Bucs snapped Wofford's four match win streak.

Wofford fell 16-25, 25-19, 11-25, 17-25. Wofford hit .096, the team's second lowest hitting percentage of the season and lowest since the second match of the season at Tennessee. The Bucs hit .250 to propel them a win. Three Bucs recorded double-digit kills and ETSU outblocked Wofford 14-4, which proved to be a difference in the match.

The Terriers were led by freshman
Riley Coonan who earned her first start since Sept. 9 at Davidson. Coonan threw down 10 kills and hit .409 from the middle.
Catie Cronister and
Colleen Reilly followed with eight kills apiece. The Bucs held Cronister to single digit kills for the first time since Sept. 17 when she had just three in one set against SC State.

Lorissa King had 20 assists and
Kristen Seibert added seven. Three Terriers finished with double-digit kills as
Taylor Gill tied for the match high with 16,
Bijonae Jones added 12, and Cronister tallied 11 in the loss.

ETSU never trailed in the first set and led by as many as nine, ultimately taking the set 16-25. The second set was much closer with the teams trading points. Tied 9-9, Wofford took the lead on an ETSU attack error and never looked back, winning the second set 25-19. ETSU jumped out to an early lead in the third set, and again, never trailed. ETSU won the set 25-11. The fifth set was back and forth to begin. Tied 11-11, the Bucs used an 14-6 run to close out the set and clinch the victory.

The Terriers return to action Saturday, Oct. 14 at 2 p.m. against Chattanooga (11-10, 4-3).Â
