Spartanburg, S.C. – The Wofford men's soccer team lost 6-1 at home against UNCG on Tuesday evening. The Spartans opened the scoring in the 7
th minute and padded their lead throughout the match to defeat the Terriers. The loss moves Wofford to 3-12 overall and 3-4 in the SoCon.

UNCG opened the scoring in the 8
th minute when Thorddur Johannesson settled the bouncing ball and beat Wofford keeper
Hunter Wages. Just over seven minutes later UNCG struck again this time from Faisal Almubasalat who scored off of a rebound.
Wofford responded quickly just a minute later when
Sam Ross was pulled down in the box and awarded a penalty kick.
Chris Welsh stepped up to the circle and converted on the chance.

UNCG wasted no time to strike back as the Spartans scored in the 18
th minute to push the lead back to two. The Spartans scored again before the halftime whistle making the game 4-1 at the break.

It was more of the same in the second half as the Spartans dominated time of possession. UNCG added two more goals to solidify the win with a final score of 6-1.

Despite the loss, Wofford had two shots on goal and two corner kicks.
Chris Welsh scored his second goal of the season and has now scored in consecutive matches.

Wofford returns to the pitch on Saturday when the Terriers travel to VMI to square off against the Keydets at 12 PM.
