Spartanburg, S.C. – Wofford women's tennis player
Lauren Joch has been awarded the Wilton McKinney award by the USTA of South Carolina. Joch, a freshman is being honored for her outstanding play, exemplary sportsmanship, a positive attitude, dedicated work ethic and community and school support.

Joch is in her first year at Wofford after an extremely successful junior's career that included a high school campaign at Dutch Fork High School. She was named a three-time team MVP, three-time region player of the year and two-time 4A player of the year. Joch was rated as a four star athlete and was ranked high as #1 in South Carolina and #88 nationally on The Tennis Recruiting Network. During her time at Dutch Fork, Joch helped her team win a State Championship.

There have been five other Wofford tennis players to win the award, Dave Garner ('87), Louise Maynard ('92), Greg Rice ('94), Lee Porter ('99) and Katie Coleman ('01).

Wofford will return to fall action in two weeks when the Terriers host the Wofford Invite on October 27-29.
