Chattanooga, TN. – The Wofford women's soccer team lost 1-0 at Chattanooga on Sunday afternoon. The game was scoreless until the Mocs found the winner in the 82
nd minute to clinch the victory. The loss moves the Terriers to 7-10 overall and 2-6-1 in the SoCon.
The Terriers and the Mocs played to a scoreless draw in the first 45 minutes of the match. Although both team recorded five shots in the half, neither side could finish the attack. Wofford created two real chances with a couple of shots on goal but the Chattanooga keeper was up to the challenge.
The second half was more of the same as the defensive struggle continued. Chattanooga finally broke through in the 82
nd minute thanks to the strike from Jordan Mueller.
Despite the loss, Wofford totaled six shots and one corner kick.
Catie Slater led the Terriers with two shots and
Alex Carroll was able to make three saves.
Wofford will return to the pitch on Wednesday, October 25 when the Terriers travel to ETSU for the first round of the SoCon Tournament.
