Box Score CONWAY, S.C. - The Wofford women's basketball team fell 67-51 on Wednesday evening at Coastal Carolina. Despite shutting out Coastal Carolina in the second quarter, the Terriers allowed the Chanticleers to score 49 second half points en route to the win. The loss is Wofford's third straight and drops the Terriers to 5-7 on the season.

Wofford trailed after one period of play, 18-15 thanks to the hot start by Coastal Carolina who shot 8-14 (57%) from the field in the quarter. The Terriers were led by Da'Ja Green who scored four points and dished out four assists in the first quarter.

The Terriers stepped up the defensive effort in the second quarter as the Chanticleers struggled to find the mark. Coastal Carolina shot 0-12 from the floor while turning the ball over four times in the period as Wofford shot just 4-17 (23%) which kept the Chanticleers within striking distance. At the break, Marissa Bayer led the Terriers with 9 points and seven rebounds. 

Coastal Carolina finally found their stride in the third quarter, shooting 9-17 (52%) from the field and 2-4 (50%) from behind the arc. The Chanticleers held the Terriers to 3-14 (21%) shooting while forcing five Wofford turnovers. After three periods of play Coastal Carolina led the Terriers 42-33.

The Chanticleers continued the hot shooting from the third quarter and padded the lead in the fourth quarter. Despite shooting a solid percentage from the floor (41%), the Terriers could not overcome the lead that Coastal Carolina had built and Wofford fell 67-51.

Despite the loss, Marissa Bayer recorded her second straight double-double and third in four games when she totaled 18 points and ten boards.

Wofford will break for the holidays and return to the court on December 30, when the Terriers host North Florida at 2 pm.
