LEXINGTON, Va. – The Wofford College rifle team took part in the NCAA Qualifier held Saturday morning at Kilbourne Hall at VMI. The Keydet men were first, followed by the VMI women second and Wofford was third.

The VMI men's team logged an aggregate score of 4487 (2234 SB. 2254 AR) followed by the VMI women with 4367 (2135 SB, 2232 AR) points.Â

Cierra Holcombe led the Wofford effort with her 564 air score and 556 small bore.
Zach Hunter (515 small bore/551 air), Seth Flanigan (515 small bore/555 air), and
Reid Schuster (518 small bore/528 air) also fired for the Terriers.

VMI's Andrew Hickey took the top spot in the small bore with a 565, while Samantha Alexander was the top shooter in air rifle at 574.

National Rifle Association sectional awards were given to the top three finishers of both the small bore and air rifle competitions. Wofford's Cierra Holcomb took home the bronze with a 556 small bore tally.

The Southern Conference Championship will be held March 4 and 5 at The Citadel.
