ATLANTA, Ga. – The Wofford volleyball team capped off an undefeated weekend with a 3-0 sweep of South Carolina State on Sunday afternoon in the Georgia State Invitational. With the win today and the three over the weekend, Wofford's overall record improves to 9-4.
Catie Cronister was named the MVP of the tournament, while teammates
Riley Coonan and
Taylor Gill joined her on the All-Tournament team. This is the second tournament Cronister was named the MVP and third she's been on the All-Tournament team, while Gill has been named All-Tournament in back to back weekends. It is the first career honor for Coonan, a freshman from Jacksonville, Fla.
Wofford won the match 25-13, 25-12, and 25-16. The Terriers only dropped one set all weekend and have now won two of their four tournaments by going 3-0.
A season high 15 players saw action for the Terriers in the win. Twelve players recorded a kill, led by Coonan with seven, and all 12 hit atleast .143 in the match.
Colleen Reilly finished with six kills and just one error on nine attempts to hit .556 on the afternoon.
Bella Santoro and
Kelly Bossert followed with five kills. Neither Terrier had an error in the match as Bossert hit .625 and Santoro hit .500.
Kara Shacklette and
Emily Durham both finished with four kills and just one error apiece. Cronister had three kills in just one set of action.

Sutton Alexander and
Grace Campbell are contributed as well. Campbell saw her first collegiate action in the match.
Gill recorded 10 digs in two sets of action and has double-digit digs in all but one match this season when she had nine against N.C. Central.
Lorissa King (17) and
Kristen Seibert (16) contributed 33 of the 40 Wofford assists.
Madeline Savage had two digs, two assists and an ace in the win.
The Terriers hit .357, a season high, and held the Bulldogs to a hitting percentage of .022, also a season best for the Terriers. Wofford hit .333, .423, and .323 in the three sets, respectively, while SC State hit .000, .000, and .067 in their three sets.
The Terriers return to action Wednesday, Sept. 20 against Furman (6-7). The match will be the first home match of the season, the first Southern Conference showdown for Wofford, and the first volleyball game inside the Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium. The Terriers and Paladins split the two meetings last season.
